Services for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany

You are welcome to St. Peter’s for worship during this holy time as we celebrate together the presence of God here among us.

Each Sunday there are celebrations of the Eucharist at 8am and 10am and during the 10am Parish Eucharist we light our Advent candles as we look forward in growing hope to the Christmas festival.

Here are some of the other things that are happening –


Sunday 2 December at 4.00pm

Christingle service with Carols my Candlelight, at which we shall raise money to support the work of the Children’s Society.


Saturday 22 December at 4.30pm

‘Carols on the Green’ We join with the Ashley Cross Green Community Association for Carol singing on Ashley Cross Green (also mulled wine and mince pies!)


Sunday 23 December

10.00am             At the Family Eucharist our children will tell us the Christmas story as they present their Nativity Play.

6.30pm*             The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, with organisations from right across our community represented.


Christmas Eve  

4.00pm*             “Christmas Starts Here” our Crib Service – we set up the crib, light the tree and get things going with the children

11.00pm             Carol singing

11.30pm*           Midnight Mass


Christmas Day

8.00am*              Christmas Holy Communion (traditional language service)

10.00am*           Christmas Family Eucharist



26 December, St. Stephen’s Day

10.45am             Holy Communion


27 December, St. John the Apostle

9.00am                Holy Communion


1 January 2019, The feast of the Naming of Jesus

* At the services marked, half of the cash in the collection will be shared among three charities. This year they will be supporting the Church’s work among the people of Yemen; those seeking refuge from domestic abuse in Poole, and young people who are homeless.
