Additional information

Following the success of last year’s ‘Enchanting Christmas’, women’s choir La Nova Singers return to St Peter’s for a summer event that celebrates iconic tunes from opera, musicals and the silver screen!

In this concert performance, memorable songs from ‘West Side Story’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ sit alongside choruses from Mozart’s ‘Marriage of Figaro’ and Puccini’s ‘Madame Butterfly’. Twelve classically-trained singers will transport you from the West End to La Scala, with enchanting solo voices and harmonious duets in the mix. Music from the movies and TV is also included, and what could be more fitting than to channel Julie Andrews’ soaring high notes in ‘The Sound of Music’?

For over 20 years, award-winning choir La Nova Singers has delighted audiences across the South with their distinctive sound and sparkling stage presence. The group is conducted by musical director and soprano Michelle Nova, and they have earned a reputation for the beauty and power of their voices - a result of their shared training in ‘bel canto’ vocal technique. The choir are accompanied on piano by Simon Gilliver, and this special concert will also feature performances from talented young musicians.

Join La Nova Singers for a night at the opera, a night at the movies - and a night in front of the telly, all rolled into one musical extravaganza!

As heard on Classic FM and BBC Radio 3: “What a glorious sound they make!” - BBC Radio 3 ‘The Choir’

“Such a great celebration… a joy” - Classic FM

“Fantastically expressive… deeply moving” - Bournemouth Echo
