This thoughtfully curated programme, in a unique, truly breathtaking venue, blends music from the wartime and post-war years with reflective pieces and uplifting melodies that capture spirit, resilience, and unity. From beloved, era-defining songs that sustained morale on the home front in both World Wars, to stirring instrumental arrangements that will pull at your heartstrings. From the past, right up to the present, the concert offers a musical journey through defining points in our national history.
Designed to complement the tone of Remembrance Sunday, the performance balances moments of quiet reflection with passages of warmth and hope. Audiences can expect familiar melodies, evocative harmonies and a carefully chosen repertoire that pays tribute not only to those who have lived and died in conflict, but also to the enduring values of remembrance, gratitude and peace.
With a full 17-piece Big Band set up and additional special guest vocalists, the band’s musical style combines historical authenticity with warmth and respect. The Swing Unlimited Dance Band is known for their rich sound and sensitive musicality. All of the band are from the local area and have a strong commitment to using live music as a way to bring people together. Their performance aims to create a welcoming space where the audiences can gather, reflect, and remember together through the shared language of music.
